Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive which may contain information about you, your member status on the website or about websites you have visited. The use of cookies on websites is a common industry standard. Cookies act as unique identifiers, used to distinguish between different users. They can enable us to track and target your interests to enhance your experience on our site. For instance, by setting a cookie on the Website, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Please note that even after we have terminated a cookie, remnants of that cookie may remain on your computer. These remnants are normally inactive.
One of the things that the Website uses cookies for is to allow access to members only sections. If a user rejects the cookie, he/she may still use the Website. The only drawback to this is that they will not have access to members only areas of the site. For example, you would not be able to participate in any of our competitions that take place.
Some of our business partners use cookies on the Website (for example, advertisers). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies or any information collected by these business partners.
We may use cookies when we conduct voting polls, surveys, and contests to limit multiple responses and registrations. We may also send third parties information from cookies to enable them to deliver more personalised advertising to you.
We will never use cookies to retrieve information from your computer that was not originally sent by us to you in a cookie.
Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you'd prefer, you can set yours to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, it is possible that some parts of the site, such as the voting polls, surveys, contest, and game areas, will not function properly if you do so.
Spamming
Spamming is sending mass unsolicited emails. We operate an opt-in only policy so we'll only send you promotional material if we have your permission, unless there is a legal or operational requirement for us to do so.
If there's promotional material coming at you that you don't want, please tell us.
Security of Personal Information
We've taken reasonable precautions to protect your security. These include protection of passwords, provisions to preserve the security of the information in our own systems and to prevent unauthorised access, use of disclosure and back-up systems to prevent accidental or malicious loss of data. In addition, employees and contractors who provide services which allow them to access personal information are required to respect the confidentiality of personal information held by Down Under Investigations.
Unfortunately, there's always a risk involved in sending information through any channel including the Internet and you do it entirely at your own risk.
We will not be responsible for any unauthorised access or use of information held by us. We will also not be responsible if your information is accessed through an unauthorised or improper use of your account or membership privileges due to your failure to adequately secure your password.
When you register on the Website you will create a user name and password. You play an important role in keeping your personal information secure by maintaining the confidentiality of any password and accounts used on the Website.
If you suspect that someone has your user name and password and you don't want them to have it, please let us know or change them immediately. You can update your password, including actions that you didn't approve or authorise yourself.
A few of our employees and contractors will have access to your personal information to a level that is necessary to enable them to perform their jobs. They are obliged to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by us.

This Website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects Personally Identifiable Information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Website.
Notification of Changes to Privacy Policy
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on the Website so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use Personally Identifiable Information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.
